Here is a logical food for thought on CoVID-19. Something you can share with family and friends who are ready to buy Bio-Suits and are convinced all living humans are a potential walking host of the most deadly virus on the planet. I’m not going down rabbit holes or validating “conspiracies", just using some common sense and basic facts to put things in perspective. Let start with a little overview of the 2 prior Pandemics in the last hundred years, the 1918 Spanish Flu and the 1968 Hong Kong Flu. Then compare them to the current pandemic of 2020.
In 1918 the worldwide population was approx. 1 Billion. The 1918 H1N1 aka Spanish Flu pandemic was classified by the CDC as "the most severe pandemic in recent history”. Estimating that about 500 million people or 33.33% of the world’s population became infected, with at least 50 million or 5% of the global populace dying. 675,000 of those deaths occurred in the United States. The US population at the time was 103 million. That means almost .66% of the US populace died from the Spanish Flu. There are 6 things we can take into account in the creation of this pandemic. First, there were very little to no indoor plumbing or Lavatories in the early 1900s. Second, most homes were very small with large families. Third, modern hygienic practices were not common in 1918. Fourth, WW1 didn’t end until November of 1918 (note: the 1st and 2nd waves of the Spanish Flu in the US started at US Military Facilities. 1st wave was at Fort Riley in Kansas & the 2nd was an Army & Naval training facility near Boston). Fifthly, the modern medical treatments and accessibility we take for granted today were nonexistent in 1918. And sixth and final, high-speed internet, Television, and Media at the touch of a button was also, non-existent. There were no PSA's sent out at lightning speed, warning, or preparing the masses. In 1918 They relied on word of mouth, printed publications, and local officials to receive their information. and that took days if not weeks. Take this all in, and one can see how a worldwide pandemic could spread so rapidly and be so deadly in 1918.
By 1968 the world population reached 3.5 Billion and the US grew by 100 million since 1918, reaching 200.7 million. Keep in mind by 1968 The World Health Organization, CDC, Food and Drug Admin., National Institutes of Health, and many other global and US health organizations had been well established. Coal was replaced by cleaner fuel oil and natural gas to heat homes. Indoor plumbing had reached about 2/3rd of the US population. Local doctors, clinics, and hospitals were popping up everywhere. 1968 saw the first bone marrow transplant, the Apollo program launched, and a patent granted for the Jacuzzi hot tub. Television was introduced into about 50 million US homes (but remember there were no re-runs of the nightly news, no instant copy, paste, and share information options. Word of mouth was still a vital tool for communicating in 1968). And, as in 1918, the US was at war. And guess what? There was no lockdown! In 1968 the H3N2 aka the Hong Kong Flu spread throughout the planet, killing 1 million globally, with 100,000 of those deaths in the US. That is a .05% loss to our US population.
Now fast forward to today, August 2020. Today, America has all the modern amenities available to have a more positive outcome in regards to a viral pandemic than in the past. Right? We have, hot running water, soaps and disinfectants of all kinds & fragrances, washing machines/Dryers, online shopping, online Doctoring, “advanced" pharmaceuticals, vaccines, sanitizing wipes, sprays, and even sanitizers for hands and bodies. Our world in the western hemisphere has numerous local health clinics (holistic and mainstream), personal physicians, many hospitals to choose from in every state. Globally, we have access to instant information. At the touch of a button today, we can receive local, national, or worldwide news. We can copy, paste, and share information in seconds. And in the US world, we have countless news sources, media outlets, and research sources instantaneously. And the average Joe can also purchase PPE with 2 clicks. Yet, the Chinese Virus Pandemic known as SARS-CoV-2 has infected 22 million and claimed approx. 750K deaths globally. 170,000 of those deaths are in the US, with 5.5 million infected. The current worldwide population of 7.8 Billion people and the current US population is 330 million. That sets the global death rate at .01% and the US death rate at .05%. With all that said, I have a few things for you to ponder. Let’s start with why is our 2020 CoVID-19 US death rate comparable to the death rates of the 1968 Hong Kong Flu? Why are countries like India with a population of 1.3 billion, and a majority of its peoples living in conditions comparable to our 1918 midwest, only reporting 53,000 Co-VID-19 deaths? Sweden, who never locked down only reported 5,800 deaths. Madagascar has 26 million people and only has 173 deaths. The Democratic Republic of the Congo has reported 246 deaths with a population of 84 million. Russia with a population of 144 million has only 15,000 confirmed CV-19 deaths. War-torn Iraq has a population of 38 million and 6,000+ deaths. Compare that to the comparable populations of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania who together reported 55,000+ CV-19 deaths. Italy reported 35,000+ deaths, it’s aging populace hit the hardest, yet not one death was reported in the Vatican. Is this adding up yet? Are we to believe that CoVID-19 with all our modern amenities, the CDC guidelines, over-reaching governmental mandates, and constant CoVID Task Force Updates, it has somehow outsmarted us? That is in 2020, we are no better off then we were in1968? In the words of Basement Biden, “Come on man”!. Keep in mind also, according to the World Health Organization and CDC the annual Seasonal Flu has about 1 billion cases each year, 3-5 million of those cases are severe and it kills 290k to 650k worldwide each year. And that’s not considered a pandemic. Heck, during the Flu season of 2014-15 there were 970,000 flu-associated hospitalizations just in the US. During the 2009-10 H1N1 “pandemic", 358 US children died. And in just the winter months of 2017, 80,000 Americans died of the common flu.
The evidence I have provided leads to only 3 conclusions. First, this pandemic is real, and the US’s high infection and death rate are due to it’s completely inept and incompetent populace and medical & governmental complex. Or, second, the numbers are all a huge lie to push a political agenda, and we are living in an Orwellian nightmare. Or last, it’s a little or a lot of both. I'm personally leaning towards the opinion of the second conclusion. What are your thoughts?
